YG Entertainment released a statement saying that Ahyeon of BABYMONSTER will not be debuting with her group members.
YG has recently released an updated statement regarding Ahyeon’s departure, saying, “Ahyeon, who was preparing to debut with BABYMONSTER, has decided to focus on her health and rest for the time being due to health reasons. This decision was made following careful decision.
We are sorry that we could not introduce Ahyeon as a member of BABYMONSTER, but this decision was made in consideration of the health of the artist. We will spare no support so that Ahyeon can fully recover and return in good health.”
The K-pop group should be debuting in September but postponed to the end of November. The talent agency officially said that they were particular in picking a debut track for the debut to gain the best results. Moreover, there was a delay in preparations, and the agency is asking for the fans to understand the current situation.
Ahyeon leaving BABYMONSTER was announced on November 15, Korean Standard Time. BABYMONSTER was originally a seven-member group. However, the K-pop group confirmed that they will be debuting as a six-member ensemble.
Ahyeon is known among Korean fans as Blackpink’s Jennie’s look-alike. In February of this year, YG Entertainment also introduced Ahyeon as a trainee with other talents.
BABYMONSTER is the talent agency’s first girl group to debut in seven years since BlackPink.
The new K-pop group’s final debut is on November 27, Korean Standard Time.
