“Queen of Tears” has recently surpassed “Goblin” to claim the second-highest rating among romance drama series aired on the South Korean TV network tvN.

Despite this achievement, “Crash Landing On You” maintains its position as the highest-rated drama.

Additionally, for the past five weeks, “Queen of Tears” has dominated as the most talked-about drama and actors, maintaining its No. 1 spot on the weekly list compiled by Good Data Corporation.

The rankings are determined by aggregating data from various sources such as news articles, blogs, online communities, videos, and social media platforms discussing dramas currently airing or scheduled for release.

The latest episode (Episode 12) of the series featuring Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won, achieved a record-high nationwide rating of 20.7 percent, marking a significant milestone for the series.

It achieved its highest viewership ratings for a Saturday episode, clinching the top spot in its time slot with an average nationwide rating of 16.8 percent, according to Nielsen Korea’s data.

Additionally, “Goblin,” which aired in December 2016, held the record with a peak rating of 20.5 percent. However, “Crash Landing On You,” starring Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin, surpassed this record in 2020 with a peak rating of 24.1 percent and an average nationwide rating of 21.7 percent.

“Queen of Tears” narrates the tale of Hong Hae In (played by Kim Jo Won), a third-generation chaebol heiress of Queens Group, and her husband Baek Hyun Woo (portrayed by Kim Soo Hyun), whose marriage is on the verge of collapse.

The series is set to air its finale episode on Netflix on April 28.

Congratulations to the cast and crew of “Queen of Tears”
