BLACKPINK attended the South Korea-UK State Banquet as esteemed guests hosted by King Charles at Buckingham Palace.
The banquet took place on November 21 to celebrate South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol’s visit to the UK, aimed at strengthening the cultural ties between the two countries.
The globally renowned girl group attended the banquet as ambassadors of COP26, championing the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. BLACKPINK were recognized for bringing the message on environmental sustainability to the global audience during the royal banquet.
King Charles III stated, “I applaud Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rosé, better known collectively as BLACKPINK, for their role in bringing the message of environmental sustainability to a global audience as Ambassadors for the U.K.’s Presidency of COP 26, and later as advocates for the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals.”
Soon after, the four members also had a meeting with King Charles III, as shared on various social media platforms and online communities.
Jisoo opted for a black, textured puff-sleeved dress from Maria Grazia Chiuri’s tribute to Frida Kahlo, which is part of Christian Dior’s 2024 resort collection. She completed her ensemble with a top-handle purse bearing Dior’s monogram.
Rosé wore a black, strapless velvet dress with a sweetheart neckline and coordinated it with a bow in her hair. Her classic look was completed with black pointed-toe pumps.
Meanwhile, Jennie appeared in a sweet, bridal ensemble. She wore a long-sleeved dress that was understated yet elegant, featuring an off-the-shoulder neckline and a train. She paired this with black platform sandals and a sparkly clutch. Lisa, the only member not dressed in neutrals, opted for an aquamarine dress with a royal cape from Georges Hobeika. This was complemented with metallic gold platforms and a diamond necklace.
Fans worldwide expressed their surprise at the aforementioned event. Their reactions ranged from shock at the elegance of BLACKPINK’s attire to admiration for their continued success on the global stage.
