On December 19, KOZ Entertainment responded to the recent issue surrounding an incident involving a member of BOYSNEXTDOOR’s security team.

In their statement, the agency first apologized for the controversy.

“Hello, this is KOZ Entertainment, we would like to apologize to the fans for the inappropriate behavior of a member of BOYSNEXTDOOR’s security team at the Qingdao Airport.” KOZ Entertainment said in a statement.

Following the incident, the label disclosed that they had issued an apology to the fan who was forcibly thrown to the ground. Additionally, they announced that the security guard involved would no longer be employed by the company.

“We sent an apology to the fan directly, and we will no longer dispatch the security guard at future artist events. We will focus on the security guidelines so that something like this doesn’t happen again,” they added.

The statement from the label received a negative response from netizens, who criticized the fact that the apology was issued only after the incident garnered widespread attention in Korean media.

Meanwhile, some netizens took to Facebook to defend the security team despite the controversy.

“when the artists get injured because of fans, y’all blame their security. but when the hired security does their job, y’all say the security needs to chill. So what should they do then? y’all are just finding ways to hate on people”.

“Their image isn’t ruined, if anything it shows that HYBE hired amazing bodyguards that have their idols’ backs and do what they are hired and trained to do when it comes to protecting idols. I bet most of those upset are prob the same ones that were pushing Jungkook in the airport a few weeks ago”.

“Fans are consumer doesn’t mean they are entitled or have rights to do whatever they want. U go to starbucks to buy a drink, u pay for the drink, that’s all. You don’t have the right to do whatever u want in the store”.

“She deserved it and all the people defending her have lost their minds or what stalking the idols is Ohk for them ????”.

“My question is, what happened that caused the security guard to react this way? If they truly felt the boys were in danger, then it is possible that they reacted appropriately”.

It was on December 18 when a lot of controversy roamed online when their bodyguard who was supposed to protect the K-pop group members at the airport was caught on camera pushing a fan.
