Brave Entertainment is set to launch its all-girl K-pop group, composed of four stunning members, named ‘Candy Shop’.

Last month, Brave Entertainment revealed that they are preparing to launch a new girl group consisting of four members in the first half of 2024. This will be the agency’s first introduction of a new girl group since the debut of Brave Girls in 2011.

On January 12 KST, Brave Entertainment revealed the logo for their upcoming 4-member girl group, Candy Shop. The group’s name is a fusion of “Catch N Draw Youth” (abbreviated as “CaNDY”) and “Shop,” symbolizing a space where the members and their audience can connect through music.

This will be the first introduction of a new act by Brave Entertainment since the debut of Brave Girls in 2011. The agency recently disclosed plans for the new girl group to release an album in the first half of 2024, with Brave Brothers leading the production and receiving support from Brave Entertainment’s team of producers. Notably, this team made K-pop history with Brave Girls’ reverse-run phenomenon, heightening expectations for the upcoming girl group they are assembling.

The term “reverse-run syndrome,” experienced by Brave Girls, refers to the unexpected resurgence in popularity of their 2017 song “Rollin’.” This phenomenon occurred several years after the song’s initial release and remarkably revitalized the career of the South Korean girl group.

The catalyst for this revival was a fan-created compilation video that gained widespread attention in early 2021. This video significantly boosted the streaming and digital downloads of “Rollin’,” propelling the song to the top of major South Korean music charts. Subsequently, after the expiration of their contracts, Brave Girls transitioned to Warner Music Korea, undergoing a rebranding as BB Girls.

As Brave Entertainment prepares to introduce its upcoming girl group, the K-pop community is eagerly anticipating the emergence of new talent and innovative music.
