SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA — Get ready, ARMY! BTS member Suga has just announced his plans to release his first official solo album, “D-DAY,” later this month.
“D-Day” will be Suga’s first official solo album release and the final release from Suga’s Agust D trilogy, following the release of two mixtapes, “Agust D” (2016) and “D-2” (2020).
The announcement came on April 3 at midnight KST, and fans couldn’t be more excited for what’s to come. “D-DAY” is set to be the final installment in Suga’s “Agust D” trilogy, which began with his mixtapes “Agust D” and “D-2.” According to a statement from Suga’s agency, the album will delve into “the personal journey of Suga as Agust D, offering an intimate portrayal of his life as an artist.”
Suga will also be dropping a pre-release track on April 7, giving fans a taste of what’s to come ahead of the album’s release.
“D-DAY” is set to drop on April 21 at 1 pm KST. Suga’s agency has also hinted that the album will be accompanied by a variety of content, including a documentary and a world tour.
The news of Suga’s solo album comes as no surprise to fans, as other members of BTS have also been pursuing solo activities in recent years. With “D-DAY,” Suga joins fellow BTS members J-Hope, Jin, RM, and Jimin in releasing an official solo album.
In addition, Suga is set to hit the road this year for a global tour — becoming the first BTS member to go on a solo tour. Fans can catch him live in North America, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and South Korea from April to June.
