Director Jang Jae Hyun’s latest work “Exhuma” is currently gaining international attention due to the unveiling of five international posters and a trailer featuring Choi Min Sik, Kim Go Eun, Lee Do Hyun, and Yoo Hae Jin.

“Exhuma” is an occult mystery film that discusses strange events that occur when a feng shui master, a mortician, and two shamans relocate mysterious graves for a large sum of money.

Choi Min Sik stars as the Feng Shui master, Sang Deok, tasked with locating the territory. In the trailer, he is shown examining the ground. Kim Go Eun takes on the role of Hwa Rim, a shaman, who appears to be discussing the grave with Bong Gil (Lee Do Hyun), a shaman skilled in incantations and funeral director Yeong Geun (Yoo Hae Jin). The trailer gives off an ominous vibe, as characters gather to relocate a suspicious grave.

Choi Min Sik is best known for his role in “Oldboy” (2003), a South Korean action-thriller directed and co-written by Park Chan-wook. His performance in the film earned him the Best Actor award at the 40th Baeksang Art Awards, the 24th Blue Dragon Awards, and the 41st Grand Bell Awards.

Kim Go Eun made her debut in the film “A Muse” (2012), earning several Best New Actress awards in South Korea. She is also recognized for her roles in the television series “Cheese in the Trap” (2016), “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God” (2016), “The King: Eternal Monarch” (2020), “Yumi’s Cells” (2021), and “Little Women” (2022).

Lee Do Hyun is known for his role in “Hotel del Luna” (2019), “18 Again” (2020), “Sweet Home” (2020), “Youth of May” (2021), “The Glory” (2022–2023), and “The Good Bad Mother” (2023). This will be his debut film.

Yoo Hae Jin has established himself as one of the top actors in the country, playing both supporting and lead roles.

The film’s posters, which depict eyes subtly appearing from the ground, create an aura of intrigue. The detailed images of the four characters heighten the thrilling ambiance. The tagline, “The vicious emerges,” sparks interest about the mysterious happenings that these characters will encounter. The novel concept of grave robbing, along with Jang Jae-hyun’s directorial skills and the ensemble cast featuring Choi Min-sik, Kim Go-eun, Yoo Hae-jin, and Lee Do-hyun, has piqued the interest of viewers both locally and abroad.

“Exhuma” is expected to hit the theaters in February 2024.
