Filipino talents continue as two more artists with Filipino heritage were included in an upcoming girl group formed through the survival show “Universe Ticket.”

Following the conclusion of the “Universe Ticket” finale on Wednesday night, the program shared images of the final lineup for its debut team named UNIS on its X (formerly Twitter) page. This new lineup notably features three Filipino artists.

In the finale, Gehlee Dangca and Korean-Filipino Jin Hyeon-ju secured spots in the victorious eight-member group. Jin, who initially represented Korea in the show, had previously debuted under the stage name Belle in the K-pop girl group Cignature.

Just before the finale last week, Elisia Parmisano, the representative from the Philippines in the competition, became the initial contestant to be officially included in the group.

Teaming up with the Filipino trio in UNIS, under the management of F&F Entertainment, are Korean members Bang Yunha, Lim Seowon, and Oh Yoona, along with Nana and Kotoko from Japan.

“Universe Ticket,” produced by South Korean broadcaster SBS, premiered in November and tracked the journey of 82 contestants participating in various missions for the opportunity to join a K-pop girl group.

The panel of judges on the show featured Hyeyeon from the renowned Girls’ Generation, singer-actress Kim Sejeong, Rian from the dance crew La Chica, and singer-songwriters Younha and Adora.

Parmisano and Dangca contribute to the increasing presence of Filipino talents in the K-pop industry, joining the likes of Chanty from the girl group Lapillus, soloist Kriesha Chu, and the all-Filipino boy band HORI7ON.

Meanwhile, the notable age gap among the members has surprised many netizens. Three members were born in 2007, three in 2009, and the youngest, Yunha, is 12, born in 2011.

Belle is the only adult member at 22, resulting in an age difference ranging from six to ten years with the other members. The significant age range has garnered astonished reactions from online users.
