Korean superstar IU recently uploaded a vlog on her YouTube channel, offering some insights into her new album with BTS’s Kim Taehyung, set to release next year.
Discussing the music video, she shared, “When I was shooting the MV, the tone and mood were so good. Even without any CG, it was great. It’s something you’ve never seen in IU’s MVs.”
Staff jokingly asked, “Didn’t you try to run away back then?”
“To be honest, I tried. But I got a flat tire. What’s funnier is that V-ssi first got a flat tire, so I suggested ‘let’s run away’, but my car also got a flat tire. I think they planted something like glass on the site so we couldn’t get away,” she answered.
On September 12th, Taehyung made a surprise appearance in IU’s ‘Palette.’ The revelation of their close friendship surprised many, as it became apparent that they were on familiar terms.
IU introduced Taehyung by saying, “I think a lot of people would be surprised. How did V (Taehyung) get to appear on ‘Palette’?” She added, “We usually talk informally to each other.”
“We became close talking about music. We can talk so easily to each other when it comes to music. Our tastes match well,” Taehyung responded.
After their rendition of “Ending Scene,” IU praised their harmony and suggested a duo performance, emphasizing the seamless blend of their voices.
Meanwhile, Taehyung is preparing for his mandatory military service in the South Korean army. Before his enlistment, he plans to fulfill all his commitments.
On December 5, BIGHIT MUSIC confirmed to My Daily Korea, “V’s participation in IU’s upcoming music video.”
EDAM Entertainment, IU’s agency, also shared, “IU has successfully filmed the music video featuring BTS’s V and is actively working on a new album, aiming to release in the first half of the year.”
This official confirmation has heightened anticipation for IU’s comeback and V’s involvement in her music video.
