Koo Hye Sun, who appeared in the popular television series “Boys Over Flowers,” is about to graduate from college, earning a summa cum laude degree at 39.

The South Korean actress posted a picture of herself at graduation on Instagram along with a statement from her university and a picture showcasing her stellar 4.27 GPA.

“Hello everyone. It’s been a while. Finally, after a long journey, I am going to graduate on 23rd,” she wrote in Korean and translated in English by Instagram.

“I’m writing this with a happy heart that I will be able to graduate with high honors (Summa Cum Laude),” she added.

Ku went on to express her gratitude to Sungkyunkwan University, her alma mater, as well as the instructors and alumni who had assisted her, stating she would always remember them.

Her supporters alleged in December 2023 that someone was impersonating her on EveryTime, a social media site for South Korean university students, according to an AsiaOne story.

However, she subsequently acknowledged that it was her, calling herself an  “aunt.”

In 2003, Ku Hye-sun enrolled in the Seoul Institute of the Arts’ Broadcasting and Entertainment Department, however she later gave up on her broadcasting career. Following that, he was admitted to Sungkyunkwan University’s Film Department in 2011 and carried on with his education.

Ku gained widespread recognition for her performance as Geum Jan Di in the 2009 Korean drama “Boys Over Flowers,” which was adapted from the manga series of the same name in Japanese.

In the early 2000s, its Taiwanese rendition, “Meteor Garden,” gained popularity, particularly in the Philippines.

She also starred in “Take Care of Us, Captain,” “Angel Eyes,” and “Blood” in addition to “Boys Over Flowers.”

In 2016, Ku wed Ahn Jae Hyun, another actor from “Blood,” and the two officially got divorced in 2020.
