SM Entertainment has provided an update about NCT member Haechan’s health condition and upcoming scheduled activities.
Today, on January 9, SM Entertainment posted a notice on the Weverse communities of NCT 127 and NCT DREAM regarding this matter.
“We want to inform you regarding NCT’s Haechan’s health status and future scheduled activities. While in Japan for scheduled activities, Haechan returned to Korea first on January 8 and visited a hospital due to flu symptoms accompanied with a high fever. According to the examination results, he has a severe case of tonsillitis, and the doctor advised that he needs plenty of rest and stability. Thus, Haechan will be taking a break for the time being for his speedy recovery,” they said in a statement.
“Haechan will be unable to participate in the Circle Chart Music Awards 2023 scheduled for January 10 (Wednesday). Thus, NCT DREAM will participate in the Circle Chart Music Awards 2023 as six members with Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Jaemin, Chenle, and Jisung. We ask for the generous understanding of fans,” they added.
“We will decide on Haechan’s participation in future scheduled activities depending on the state of his recovery, and we will inform you again regarding [this decision].
We apologize for causing concern to fans, and we will do our best so that Haechan can greet fans again in good health,” as they ended the statement.
The company sought fans’ understanding and expressed regret for causing concern, mentioning that they would provide an update regarding Haechan’s return at a later time.
Haechan participates in two NCT subunits: NCT 127 and NCT Dream. Recently, NCT Dream released their special EP “Candy” on December 16, while NCT 127 is scheduled to release a repackaged version of their fourth full-length album “Ay-Yo” on January 30.
