Korean actors Park Bo Gum and Kim So Hyun is set to star together in a new comedy-drama titled “Good Boy,” produced by JTBC.
Park Bo Gum is set to portray the character Yoon Dong Joo, a former Olympic gold medalist boxer, who transitions into a role as a police officer within the Special Violent Crime Unit through a special employment program for Olympic athletes.
Endowed with natural skills for combat, Yoon Dong Joo initially rises to fame as an Olympic hero. However, following a period of despair, he embarks on a new chapter as a police officer. In this journey, he rediscovers his fighting instincts while confronting instances of injustice.
Kim So Hyun is set to take on the role of Ji Han Na, an Olympic gold medalist in shooting who gained widespread admiration as a “shooting goddess” for her striking beauty. Following a world-shaking incident, she decides to leave her career in shooting behind and transitions to becoming a police officer.
Despite her composed exterior, Ji Han Na possesses a charmingly candid and straightforward nature, particularly in matters of love and work.
The production team of “Good Boy” revealed that the drama is a revitalizing narrative revolving around Olympic heroes who transition from sports arenas with established rules to combat violent crimes marred by unethical conduct and foul play.
They encourage anticipation for the compelling synergy between Park Bo Gum and Kim So Hyun, who will earnestly depict the journey of these heroes confronting violence, each with their unique backgrounds.
“Good Boy” is scheduled for release in the latter part of 2024. The drama, scripted by Lee Dae Il known for works such as “Chief of Staff” and “Life on Mars,” will be directed by Shim Na Yeon, renowned for her involvement in “Beyond Evil” and “The Good Bad Mother.”
