South Korean celebrities IU and Lee Jong-Suk, whose rumored relationship sparked significant media attention, have officially confirmed their romantic involvement. 

As speculation turns into reality, it’s a golden moment to delve into their relationship timeline, tracing their journey from acquaintances to partners, culminating in their public declaration of love in 2022 and beyond.

The confirmation of IU and Lee Jong Suk’s relationship came from statements released by their respective agencies, confirming the transition from close acquaintances to a committed couple.

IU’s agency, EDAM Entertainment, and High Zium Studio, Lee Jong Suk’s agency acknowledged the relationship, expressing hopes for continued support for the blossoming romance. 

“IU and Lee Jong Suk recently progressed from being close acquaintances into a good relationship. We ask for the warm reception of fans, EDAM entertainment stated. 

Before the confirmation, the Korean media outlet Dispatch reported that IU and Lee Jong Suk spent Christmas in Nagoya, Japan.

It has also been reported that Lee Jong Suk personally arranged the trip as he booked the resort and a pickup escort for IU and her brother without his manager’s help

Additionally, their union symbolizes a fairytale romance, blending the realms of K-pop stardom and television fame, making them one of South Korea’s most adored celebrity couples.

IU and Lee Jong-Suk started their careers at a young age. IU, also known as Lee Ji-Eun, established herself as a prominent Korean singer, while Lee Jong-Suk became a beloved Korean actor. 

The two sweethearts are now getting married, and IU also showered her love on Lee for being a devoted partner. She said, “He is a reliable and cute person who encourages me sincerely.”

IU enjoys success with her latest single, “Love Wins All,” featuring BTS’ V, while Lee Jong-Suk has secured a new agency for his upcoming projects.

Despite being officially recognized as Dispatch’s 2023 New Year’s Couple, IU and Lee Jong-Suk first crossed paths over a decade ago in August 2012, when they co-hosted the SBS music show “Inkigayo.”
