Sandara Park, also known as Dara, expressed her disappointment as a scheduled concert in Cebu City got postponed due to “unforeseen circumstances.” The concert, titled “Awake: A New Beginning,” was initially set for September 23, featuring a lineup of K-pop groups such as AB6IX, VIVIZ, and YOUNITE, alongside Korean dance crews 1Million and MB Crew.
The concert’s organizer, Mark Entertainment and Events, officially confirmed the postponement on September 15, citing “unexpected weather moves and unforeseen circumstances” as the reasons behind the decision.
Sandara Park took to her X (formerly Twitter) account on September 18 to express her disappointment and to apologize to her fans. She shared her sadness about the postponed concert, revealing that she had been diligently preparing for the show.
In her message to fans, Dara expressed her hope that they were doing well despite the setback and assured them of her continuous support, using hashtags like #staystrongdara and #staystrongdaralings.
Additionally, Dara revealed that she would not be attending Paris Fashion Week as planned this year. She mentioned that she had an upcoming work commitment in another country at the end of the month, which was also canceled. She described the timing as unfortunate, given her excitement to meet her fans on stage in different cities.
Despite the challenges and disappointments, Dara maintained a positive outlook and assured her fans that there would be better days ahead, emphasizing that there’s always a rainbow after the rain.
Meanwhile, Dara is set to be a special guest at GOT7’s BamBam’s solo concert on September 22. Both artists are under the same South Korean label, Abyss Company.
Moreover, this isn’t the first time Dara has faced concert-related setbacks this year. The “Epicon” joint concert she was supposed to be part of with her 2NE1 bandmate Minzy was also postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.
