Yuehua Entertainment, the agency for TEMPEST, has issued a formal statement in response to online controversy about Hwarang going to clubs.

A previous video of Hwarang responding to a fan’s inquiry about meeting him at a club during a video call fan sign went viral online.

According to the fan, Hwarang visited clubs alongside TNX’s Hyunsoo, YOUNITE’s Hyunseung, MIRAE’s Junhyuk, and Golden Child’s Bomin. Hwarang acknowledged the accusations on the video chat, but he insisted that he wasn’t “fooling around” with girls and that he hadn’t done anything improper at the clubs.

On February 20, Yuehua Entertainment released the following official statement:

“Hello. This is Yuehua Entertainment.

We want to inform you regarding the private life of artist Hwarang that was circulated via social media.

We sincerely apologize for causing trouble to fans who were concerned due to our agency artist Hwarang’s actions.

The truth is different from the information circulated via social media, and Hwarang is deeply reflecting on visiting the relevant location. He has resolved to not repeat his actions, and the agency and artist Hwarang will take special care so that such actions are not repeated.

We once again apologize deeply for causing concern to fans and the TEMPEST members at this time ahead of the comeback.”

Some online users objected when they heard about this, believing it was excessive to issue an apology for an adult who had visited a club. But it appears that the agency was worried that the controversy regarding the private lives of the individuals in the video would be taken seriously.

Meanwhile, Hwarang, together with Gaon from Xdinary Heroes and Keum Dong Hyun from EPEX, will be the new host of “Show Champion.” TEMPEST is now preparing for their comeback with “TEMPEST Voyage.”
